TANGLED – In Theaters Today!
If you’re looking for a fun movie for the whole family to enjoy this Thanksgiving weekend, TANGLED fits the bill. We took our crew on Saturday and the movie was a hit! TANGLED is Walt Disney Pictures’ take on the classic fairytale, Rapunzel.
Here is the movie’s synopsis:
When the kingdom’s most wanted—and most charming—bandit Flynn Rider (voice of Zachary Levi) hides out in a mysterious tower, he’s taken hostage by Rapunzel (voice of Mandy Moore), a beautiful and feisty tower-bound teen with 70 feet of magical, golden hair. Flynn’s curious captor, who’s looking for her ticket out of the tower where she’s been locked away for years, strikes a deal with the handsome thief and the unlikely duo sets off on an action-packed escapade, complete with a super-cop horse, an over-protective chameleon and a gruff gang of pub thugs. In theaters this holiday season in Disney Digital 3D™, “Tangled” is a story of adventure, heart, humor and hair—lots of hair.
Oh yes, the hair. I have to say that during the first 10 minutes of the movie, I was ready to be irritated by Rapunzel’s hair - silky, straight, blonde and LONG; the complete opposite of my daughters’ hair. I was a bit concerned that they would be receiving the message that only silky, straight, blonde and LONG hair was beautiful. But I decided to let it go in an attempt to enjoy the movie and not make a federal case out of something seemingly trivial. It’s just a fairytale cartoon after all. And I’m glad I did!
The movie was funny, smart and interesting. I commented to Hubby that it was refreshing to watch characters that looked different that the Disney Princesses that we’ve been held hostage by in our house for the past few years. The 3D element was fun as well. L’il Buddy didn’t care for the 3D glasses, so he watched it without them and was happy as a lark. I noticed Giggles taking her glasses off during certain parts, and putting them on for others. It was so cute watching her try to reach out and touch the floating lanterns at one point. I even teared up when Maximus came back for Flynn (you’ll see!)
My whole family liked it! You can also visit TANGLED on Facebook.
Disclosure: I was invited to view the movie during a complimentary advanced screening. The views expressed here are my own!
